OK, so Geoff is a sick puppy! Not content with simply taking photos of the gite, he decided to make a virtual model of it. Why? Just because he CAN !
Pictured here are a few screen-shots... To experience the 3D walk-through properly requires downloading Epic Games' "Unreal Engine" and a "grunty" 64-bit computer with a top-end graphics card, lots of free disk space and at least 20Gb of memory... not for the faint-hearted!
Alright, so it's a bit up-in-the-air!
Not to mention draughty and spartan:
No skylights, staircase or fire-place, either!
But at least you can cook!
And store stuff:
Even do your laundry, if you MUST ! (Though you're MEANT to be on HOLIDAY!)
There's seating for six in the kitchen:
Progress... But still those walls... and no way to reach the bedrooms!
We really DO need some STAIRS:
... which tend to work better when they're IN a house!
Proceed to top of right-hand column...
There... TV / Video / DVD / free UK Sky channels... Books, staircase, walls, places to sit !
For what more could one ask?!
Oh, of course... Yes, we DO provide broadband and wi-fi... (This IS, after all, rural France, not New Zealand!) :
(We removed the phone though...
Besides, you probably have Skype!)
--------
We even provide window-boxes... in the warmer months:
Those stairs DO lead somewhere, you know!
Upstairs!
... to Bedroom 1:
... and Bedroom 2:
~
Geoff hasn't finished "decorating" the upstairs and downstairs bathrooms and toilets yet... Rome wasn't built in a day, you know!
~
It should probably be pointed that there are currently no REAL gates in the driveway, although Geoff has DESIGNED some, which he'd like to have made out of wrought-iron at some point:
Oh... and for the sake of completeness, because no "real-life" photos have been uploaded to this site recently, we now sport a "temporary" garage in the driveway:
~
Note:
Geoff uses a number of different 3D programs, including Blender, 3D Studio Max, SL, DAZ 3D Studio, Hexagon, etc., along with the entire suite of Adobe products and assorted plug-ins. The final two screen-shots (immediately above) were created using a "lesser" 3D engine than the others.
Movie:
If you'd like to see a "cute" movie made entirely with the Unreal Engine, check this out:
